Apokries 2010

The Greek carnival, Apokries, is coming soon. It will be a lot of fun and so much for the kids to do and for the parents to watch! First of all there will be a fashion show!! Wow! All the girls dressed up and their hair nicely decorated will walk on the runway! The boys will get to wear their favorite halloween costumes and do a parade around the schoolyard. And the whole school will sing an old traditional "apokriatiko" song about a crab getting married to a turtle and inviting all kinds of animals to the wedding! They will be wearing masks that they made and decorated beforehand. Of course there could not be a Greek celebration especially such a festive one without food ! In my class we are getting ready for our part of the song. We will be either crabs or turtles. Can't wait!!

Christmas 2009

Our Christmas celebration took place on the 19th of December. I have to say that I was one of the proudest teachers! My children sang so nicely and loud their "Xionia sto kampanario" song!! And the play was a great success according to what many many people told me. I was there next to them holding the microphone so I could not have a clear picture of how they sounded or how the whole setting looked like. But people told me that they could hear the kids lines clearly and that the whole play was very interesting and sweet. I knew they would do great, we rehearsed so many times and they took their roles very seriously! Thank you all!!
